POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for sprint execution utilizing an agile based System Development Life Cycle for project teams in the implementation of technology and business oriented projects. Will be assigned challenging, highly visible, and highly complex projects that will require agile/scrum experience to be successful.
LOCATION: Nashville, TN
Major responsibilities include:
• Overall sprint planning and execution
• Removing team impediments while promoting self-management
• Measuring sprint performance and escalating issues as needed
• Tracking progress and completion of items within each sprint
• Facilitating sprint-related meetings
• Constantly improving our standards of work
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
• Drive agile based SDLC for software development adhering to standards, tools, and best practices
• Perform capacity planning
• Host daily stand-ups
• Coach team on process
• Ensure sprint resource stability
• Schedule and prepare for demos with team
• Schedule and run Sprint retrospectives
• Protect team from distractions
• Monitor task completion (and Team Foundation Server (TFS) compliance)
• Track and communicate sprint/release progress
• Help and assist in release planning
• Maintain sprint management dashboard in TFS
• Facilitate discussion and conflict resolution
• Partner with all project team roles and stakeholders
• Empower the team to self-organize where possible
• Participate proactively in developing and maintaining team standards, tools, and best practices
• Facilitate the prioritization and resolution of defects/bugs
• Assist with internal and external communication and improving transparency
• Ensure the teams are practicing the core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility
• Maintain process documentation
• Help as needed with backlog maintenance
• Continue education in related disciplines
• Perform special projects or duties as assigned
• Other duties as assigned

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
• Four-year college degree in computer systems design or computer science, and/or 3 years equivalent work experience
• Minimum (3) years of agile/scrum experience
• Minimum (2) years of application development experience
• Knowledge of project management and agile methodologies/concepts
• Strong proficiency in Excel
• Very strong written and verbal communication skills
• Organization and planning skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Conflict resolution skills
• Strong facilitation skills
• Ability to build and sustain collaborative working relationships at all levels
• Flexibility with changing priorities
• Critical thinking skills
• Customer service oriented
License(s)/Certifications Required: Certified Scrum Master (CSM).
License(s)/Certifications Preferred: Certified Scrum Practitioner (CSP); Project Management Professional (PMP); PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP)
