POSITION SUMMARY: This role manages the agreement processes to ensure accurate and timely agreement information to support distribution and overall repertoire quality. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to, directing all activities associated with the receipt and processing of agreements to meet established goals; and to ensure the delivery of timely and accurate agreement information to support distribution and other agreement dependent activities.
LOCATION: Nashville, TN office. BMI has transitioned back to working in the office on a regular hybrid schedule. At present, most team members are expected in the office three (3) days a week. Decisions regarding future transitions will take place in phases as BMI continues to closely monitor COVID-19 as employee safety is our priority.
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
Essential Functions: which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position.
• Manage and direct the team responsible for agreement processing.
• Analyze scope of work and set team priorities based on multiple factors and deadlines.
• Monitor team member productivity and other team performance goals to meet multiple distribution deadlines.
• Support the day-to-day activities of the team to achieve established goals.
• Support team members in interpretating complex agreements.
• Train and coach team members to improve overall knowledge, quality, and quantity.
• Review agreement documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Work with 3rd parties to ensure all documentation received is complete and received in a timely manner.
• Manage the quality assurance activities across the agreements processes to ensure accurate and complete agreement transactions.
• Create, maintain, and report relevant KPIs and metrics to illuminate and optimize team performance.
• Develop relationships with peers at publishing companies and other BMI customers to create efficiencies and to increase the knowledge of BMI administration practices across the industry.
• Analyze and evaluate documentation and data to solve agreement, affiliation, administration, registration, and royalty problems.
• Interact with the Music Works teams regarding agreements, registrations, and works data quality.
• Interact with the Creative team, external customers, and other members of the distribution team on agreement and administration related inquiries.
• Receive, research, and respond to agreement, affiliation, administration, registration, and royalty inquiries from internal and external customers.
• Effectively communicate BMI policies, practices and procedures to internal and external customers relating to agreements, affiliation, administration, account maintenance, the registration of works, the payment of royalties, and Online Services.
• Perform written and telephone inquiries to affiliates, internal and external customers.
• Research and prepare royalty adjustment requests.
• Perform system updates to support account management and customer service activities.
• Participate in continuous process improvement to ensure departmental efficiencies are identified, implemented, and maintained.
• Stay abreast of current industry trends and market expectations relevant to copyright transactions, copyright administration, and catalog acquisitions. Communicate relevant information to the administration management team.
• Make recommendations for changes to policies and procedures to align with industry and marketplace trends and changes.
• Participate on project teams that are responsible for the design, development, testing and implementation of new systems and processes.
• Support the Director as needed; including but not limited to catalog acquisition transactions, documentation and catalog review, and special projects.
• Assist with other administration and distribution processes and projects as needed.
• Regular attendance.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training team members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining team members; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent preferred. Music business degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum four (4) years’ experience in the music industry. At least two (2) years working knowledge of the music publishing business.

• Experience working with and maintaining database systems and reports, as well as word processing and spreadsheets.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong leadership, relationship, and team building skills.
• Results driven with the ability to organize, prioritize, and follow-through
• Ability to comprehend and summarize multiple sources of information, including legal documents, and make decisions based on the information.
• Attention to detail (strong proofreading skills)
• Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet multiple deadlines within specific timeframes.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
