Temporary - HR Generalist
POSITION SUMMARY: Provide Human Resources generalist services including employee relations, performance management, staffing, compensation, salary administration, communication and report generation as needed.
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
• Manages employee relations issues timely, including dispute resolution, conflict management; conducts harassment and discrimination investigations.
• Monitors and advises management team members with progressive discipline and coaching. Reaches agreement for appropriate actions. Escalates for review as appropriate.
• Assists with management of the Employee Recognition Program.
• Works in conjunction with Legal as appropriate.
• Assists managers with addressing performance gaps, including assistance for drafting appropriate documents.
• Maintains and reports on relevant data to assist in monitoring trends.
• Supports recruiting efforts at all levels for all locations, either directly or indirectly with a focus on attracting, retaining and engaging high caliber talent; as needed.
• Other duties as assigned
• Regular attendance.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no direct reports.
Physical/Visual Activities or Demands: Physical/visual activities or demands that are commonly associated with the performance functions of this job.
• Sitting, talking, hearing and walking.
• Concentrated mental and visual attention with normal hand-eye coordination.
• Clarity of vision at 20 inches; corrected or uncorrected.
• Generally negligible physical effort, but occasional moving of 1 to 25 lb. items.
• Frequent keyboarding.
• Extended hours beyond 40 as needed.
POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field. Continuing education is encouraged.
Experience:
• Minimum two years in a progressive HR environment with a generalist background in a fast-paced office/corporate environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience working with HR Software required, preferably Ceridian.
• Knowledge of Human Resource policy/procedures, compensation, legal compliance and employment laws.
Skills

• Proven exceptional interpersonal skills with demonstrated success in working with and developing cooperative relationships with team members at all levels.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency in using HRIS systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Able to complete projects under tight deadlines, even when there are competing requirements and changes in assignments.
• Excellent detail orientation.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Knowledge of HR policies and procedures, compensation, legal compliance and employment laws.
