Stereo Technical Assistant, Temp (Blue Sky Studios)
JOB DESCRIPTION
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
• Support and troubleshoot 3D sets, Stereo Finishing and pipeline related issues with Stereoscopic Supervisor, Rendering Supervisor, Stereoscopic TDs, and Render TDs
• Track and work on Camera/Staging (workbook/Final Layout), Animation (in progress and Final), Lighting and Compositing files camera issues.
• Basic Stereoscopic Camera setup
• Technical check set up/prep for render
• Troubleshooting problematic left eye renders, Quality Control post render
• Stereo finishing shot set up/ trouble shooting
• Rendering tools development/execution
• Support Stereoscopic TDs on creative tasks such as Stereoscopic Camera setup Creative Left eye Render
• Maintains a consistent level of productivity while meeting deadlines and producing high quality work
Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience Required:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Visualization, or Computer Animation required or equivalent work experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in Camera/Staging and/or compositing
• Familiarity with scripting concepts (C-Shell, Perl, Python, RenderMan, MEL and/or similar).
• Familiarity with one or more animation package (Maya, Softimage, etc.)
• Familiarity with one or more compositing package (Shake, Nuke, etc.)
• Familiarity with Linux operating systems.
• Experience working in production environment preferred.

Working Conditions and Environment/ Physical Demands
• Work for a 24/7 Animation Studio
• Office working environment
• Must be able to physically fuse stereoscopic imagery for extended periods of time
• Walking/bending/sitting/standing
• Works at the front and back end of the production pipeline with hard deadlines and high productivity demands and, as such, flexible working hours during ''crunch periods'', including evenings and weekends.
