JOB DESCRIPTION
SUMMER INTERNSHIP
Our summer internship program is a fun, exciting and education-packed 10 weeks. Each intern is specially selected and placed in a department that best fits their skills and interests. Throughout the 10 weeks they will be mentored and supervised by a Blue Sky professional in that field.
All of the Summer 2019 internships start in early June and end in early August. They are open to all college students whose graduation dates fall within the following time frame: Winter 2018 through Spring 2020. All applicants must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship by the Company.
STORY
Story Artists transform a written script into the particular visual language of an animated film. Every story artist will draw different scenes or sequences of the script - bringing humor and specificity to the words on the page. The basic elements of storyboards show camera angles, sequence staging, and most importantly adding humor and character to the story. The Story Artist interns should be pursuing an animation related degree and have storyboarding experience on a project.
Application Requirements:

Education
and/or Experience Required:
Pursuing BS or MS in Animation, Fine Arts, Computer Science, Computer Visualization or related studies.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
• Develop the ability to depict action and comedy through expressive drawing.
• Develop the ability to stage and maintain visual continuity.
• Work on character development, provide editorial fixes, and sequence clean-ups.
• Gain exposure to the production pipeline and learn how Story interacts with other departments.
• Shadow team members in the Story Department and complete learning assignments created for them by the team.
Qualifications:
• Strong drawing skills that suggest character and action.
• Demonstrated ability in storytelling.
• Ability to take creative direction.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
