Associate Production Manager (Blue Sky Studios)
The Associate Production Manager is responsible for driving the schedule and inventory flow through the department, including long range planning and reporting. They oversee cross-departmental communication on global issues impacting show inventory as well as studio processes, as it relates to their department. In partnership with the department supervisor, they are responsible for department personnel management, communication and inventory planning, execution and delivery.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
-Organize and manage production schedule and calendars for departments, which includes frequent spreadsheet, Shotgun and Microsoft Project file updates
-Manage day to day operations and tasks within the department.
-Evaluate and maintain an understanding of the scope of work and schedule. Offer proactive solutions and negotiate with the Director, Art Director and Department heads. Escalate to Producer and Production Managers as needed.
-Work with artistic and/or technical leadership on coaching/managing the team(s) towards meeting/exceeding production and individual performance expectations. This includes but is not limited to annual performance reviews and performance management.
-Analyze production pipeline steps as they relate to the department with emphasis on efficiency and impact both up and down stream in the pipeline.
-Communicate with supervisors/leads & technical directors/artists regarding deadlines and prepping shots for daily rounds
-Help to ensure that the correct processes are being followed and meetings are scheduled (handoffs, kickoffs, reviews, etc)
-Work with the Production Supervisor on deliverables, deadlines & logistics. Deliver reports to Production Supervisor on weekly progress/left-to-do
-Track, analyze and report on department trends regarding productivity, quotas and long range planning.
-Manage Production staff and delegate accordingly.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor degree in related field or equivalent professional experience.
-3-5 years production management experience with successful production experience
Skills
, Abilities, Special Licenses or Certificate:
-Demonstrated experience and proficiency at using Microsoft office software: MS Word, Excel, Project, etc.
-Ability in Shotgun or similar production tracking system
-Ability to multi-task and to adapt to changing production needs.
-Ability to relate to, and effectively communicate, with all levels of employees in a professional and appropriate manner.
Working Conditions and Environment/Physical Demands:
-Production Management provides management support to the Production Pipeline , and as such, flexible working hours are required as a fundamental and necessary part of this job
-Office working environment
-Walking/bending/sitting/standing
-Approximately 80% of time spent working on a Computer.
