Blue Man Productions seeks a full-time Technical Director with extensive knowledge of all facets of theatre technology, including rigging, carpentry, audio, video, lighting, technical design and fabrication. The Technical Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations, and the safe and efficient use of the BMP production facility. Additional responsibilities include project management, shipping and trucking, managing the annual production facility budget, financial projections, and staff planning.
The Technical Director has a seasoned, in-depth knowledge of operating safety procedures, local and federal code safety requirements, and is completely versed in industry safety standards and compliance requirements. The Technical Director will also serve as the Supervising Technical Director for all Special Events and Appearances, generating ground plans, production riders, and liaising with external partners in regard to technical and staffing needs. The Technical Director may also be assigned to travel to serve as the onsite Technical Director.
You have a well-rounded Production background and are eager to be a part of a fun, hard-working team. You are comfortable being hands on, as well as behind a desk. Detail-oriented and extremely organized. Ability to successfully multi-task and take ownership to drive assigned projects. Creative, tactical problem-solver and a dedicated self-starter where no task is too big or too small.
Occasional nights, weekends, and travel may be required. Minimum 10 years of professional experience, rigging certification, and proficient drafting skills required.
