Blue Man Group at the Astor Place Theatre is seeking a Manager of Tourism & Group Sales.
The Manager of Tourism and Group Sales is responsible for creating and executing an annual and quarterly Business Plan for Group Sales and FIT segments including a strategy for achieving expected company revenue goals. The position is directly responsible for the management of the Group Sales business- including maintaining existing clients; exploring opportunities to develop new clients, as well as management of Group Sales Coordinator and department budget.
This position reports to the Director of Sales & Marketing and interacts with the Marketing Coordinator, external customers, show production staff and outside business partners.
Key elements of the position include but are not limited to:
• Planning and executing Group Sales and FIT sales initiatives as well as developing opportunities to target and grow new business segments.
· Maintaining local partnerships that drive revenue including but not limited to Tour Operators, OTA discount channels, sales partners, concierge/hotel partners and other ticket driving outlets.
· Attending scheduled trade shows as the Blue Man Group NY representative
· Overseeing group sales operations: ensuring all incoming calls and requests for information are answered, managing ticket fulfillment, ensuring ongoing communication with each group leader and client, executing and maintaining accurate Group Sales contracts, payments and records.
· Managing and maintaining relationship with Broadway Inbound and other companies that specialize in FIT sales
· Creating a training program for FIT Travel Agents to give them the tools and knowledge to sell Blue Man Group.
· Creating, maintaining, and presenting on-going reports of sales trends and opportunities.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 3-5 years in the ticketing, live event/entertainment or attraction industries.
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required
• Demonstrated excellence in sales and customer service.
• Exceptional management, supervisory and organizational skills with acute attention to detail.
• Excellent written, verbal communication and inter-personal skills.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) required and Salesforce and Ticketmaster preferred.
• Ability to multi-task and function at a high level in a fast-paced environment.
• Possess a willingness to embrace the mission, values and culture of Blue Man Group and its performances in order to thoroughly assist customers with their purchases.
