BLT Communications is looking for a dedicated social media community manager to join our social and creative strategy team. This role reports to the VP of social and creative strategy.
Role & Responsibilities
• Oversee social media management projects for entertainment clients with heavy emphasis on Broadway
• Serve as lead community manager on select projects (in addition to some support for other projects)
o Write social-friendly, on-brand copy with an understanding of the various voices across different titles
o Work with strategists to develop a voice guide for each title
o Develop and maintain thoughtful editorial calendars
o Brainstorm with the team to concept social content based on the overall campaign strategy and marketing direction - from daily posts to larger campaign initiatives
o Work closely with social creative producers on asset delivery schedules
o Schedule and publish content
o Moderate pages and manage fan engagement on social channels
o Work with press agencies
o Work with paid agencies (there are some small paid campaigns we manage in house)
o Observe and absorb insights from the communities and use for future initiatives
• Monitor trends across social media
• Collaborate and ideate with team members across the building on new content ideas to support marketing campaigns
• Ability to work full-time (in our LA offices) with some night/weekend work as needed
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• 2-3 years of community management experience
• A passion for and genuine interest in entertainment and Broadway
• Clear understanding of all social platforms - how to use them best, how to use them differently, how to optimize creative concepts for each, etc. (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat) + paid knowledge a big plus
• Strong, creative, clever copywriting is a MUST
• Attention to detail is crucial as we juggle multiple projects and platforms with millions of fans (and clients) looking on
• Excellent communication skills (online and in person / internal and external)
• Ability to collaborate with other teams across different disciplines
• Understanding of the nuances of social media, when it comes to copy, fan engagement, and overall tone
• Curiosity! We want you to tell us what's new and cool in pop culture and what's trending
• Be insightful - the ability to look at what works and what doesn't and go from there
• Have an opinion and a good reason for it, but also be open to feedback and constructive criticism
