Academy Award Nominated documentary company, Black Valley Films, is looking for an Assistant Editing Intern. This is a unique opportunity to learn about documentary production from the ground up. You will gain exposure to production and post-production environments, as well as learn the business behind independent documentary filmmaking. You will be an essential part of the team.
Qualities: Superior systematic organization skills, tech savvy (Google Suite & Adobe Premiere), strong writer/communicator, critical thinker, team player, detail-oriented, sharp and confident - someone who will speak their mind and actively improve business operations and creative development process. Someone who is eager to learn and grow in the documentary field. Background in Film, Journalism, and/or Business preferred.
Responsibilities:
• Labeling, organizing and preparing media for edit in Premiere Pro.
Handle audio transcription work flow: audio exports from Premiere for mass uploads, speaker naming and potentially making selects.
• Reviewing internal project documents, identifying where extra research is needed and putting into actionable items.
• Organizing and condensing previous projects across multiple platforms-- Airtable, Google Drive, Trello, etc.
• Digital organization within company database. Mac friendly/familiar preferred.
• Research for projects in development
LOCATION: Home office in the Silverlake area (When safe to do so) and/or Remotely.
