Freelance Job
Big Ten Network is seeking a Freelance Editor to join their Post Production team in Chicago. Under minimal supervision, the Freelance Editor will be responsible for editing material for studio, digital and remote productions. This is a freelance, seasonal position that will typically offer between 24-32 hours per week for approximately 9 months. This position will report to the Managing Editor of Studio Production.
Responsibilities:
• Edit highlights, broll, montages, features, event cut downs, and any other pieces necessary for BTN studio, digital, and original programming operations
• Serve as the liaison between the edit room and control room during BTN shows and live studio/game broadcasts when needed
Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalency
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Broadcasting, Radio/TV/Film, or equivalent work experience
• Capable of working nights and weekends
• Minimum of 1-3 years' experience as an editor in studio and live event production
• Extensive experience with Adobe Premiere
• After Effects and Photoshop experience a plus
• Capable of working closely with a team
• Capable of working with minimal supervision when needed
• Sports knowledge a plus
• Good written, verbal, and organizational skills
• Ability to work in fast paced environment on tight deadlines
• Ability to understand and troubleshoot technical problems associated with editing studio and remote production
