Position Summary
The Big Ten Network (BTN) is seeking a full-time Digital Editor/Designer to join their team in Chicago. Responsibilities will include conceptualizing and executing creative content with a focus on digital and social platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Snapchat. This includes helping plan for live event coverage, cutting real-time video, compiling video projects and crafting effective animations as well as front-end design templates for use across multiple sports. The Digital Editor/Designer will work closely with the Digital Media and Digital Marketing Departments.
Responsibilities
• Deliver platform-specific content for digital and social platforms (BTN.com, BTN2Go, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube)
• Manage the production of real time reactions to breaking Big Ten news and live coverage of BTN events
• Collaborate with BTN team members on mid- to –long-term planning around tent pole events
Qualifications
• Position requires undergraduate degree, preferably in new media
• Strong knowledge of digital video production related techniques and on-line content management systems
• Position requires extensive knowledge of and interest in Big Ten sports and pop culture
• Established ability to create and produce compelling stories; generates and executes ideas, from concept to execution
• Demonstrated production/editing experience with intercollegiate athletics programs or professional sports teams is strongly preferred
• Must have superior written and verbal communication skills.
• Position requires sound reasoning skills
• Proficiency with technology platforms and graphic design software packages (After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, 3D Software) required - familiarity with Adobe Premiere is preferred, but not required
• Must be organized, detail oriented, proactive and a team player
• Demonstrated ability to meet strategic deadlines in a dynamic environment
