The Big Machine Label Group encompasses Big Machine Records, The Valory Music Co., BMLG Records, Nash Icon Records and publishing company Big Machine Music as well as its own digital radio station, Big Machine Radio.
We are looking for an intuitive, multi-tasking Accounting Manager to join our fast paced moving team!
Key Functions:
Prepare weekly & monthly label reporting including but not limited to:
- Artist and Label Profit/Loss statements
- Travel & Entertainment reporting
- Concur employee expense report journal entries
- Revenue Source analysis by income partner
- Creation of Income Statement and Balance Sheet analysis reports
- AFM Special Payment Fund & Musician Fund reports semi-annually
Prepare monthly journal entries & update revenue/expense schedules as necessary
- Income Allocation
- Mechanical & Artist Royalty Accruals
Ensure all accounts payables are processed on a daily basis verifying and approving account coding and accompanying documentation for each transaction
Ensure all accounts receivables and employee bill backs are invoiced on a monthly basis verifying and approving all invoices and sales orders prior to invoices being distributed
Review purchase order requests daily ensuring proper account coding, recoupabilities, and approal routing
Process A/P check batch weekly
Assist Controller with monthly closing ensuring all entries are reviewed and posted by 10th of following month
Assist with Artist and Mechanical royalty statement processing
- Pulling artist expenses
- Issuing royalty checks on semi-annual and quarterly basis
Participate on the Vena Budgeting Software implementation team
- Build company reports as needed
- Validate financial information between Vena and NetSuite
Oversee 1099 processing annually with assistance from accounting staff
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required
Experience:
5+ years of similar accounting related and/or record label experience required
Knowledge or prior experience of working in a major record label preferred
Knowledge or prior experience working with royalty accounting preferred
Knowledge of NetSuite Accounting Software, Concur Solutions, and Vena Budgeting Tools a plus
Prior expereince in managing an accounting staff preferred
High Proficiency working in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, and Access)
Excel knowledge requirements: VLookups, Pivot Tables, Macros
Skills and Abilities:
Extreme attention to detail
Intuitive to business needs with ability to pick up on leading edge technology quickly
Flexibility and openess to work on a variety of assignments concurrently
Ability and willingness to meet critical business deadlines
Ability to work outside of normal business hours
