Our service-based model is scaled to provide a meaningful alternative for those creative individuals who prefer an active one-on-one relationship with an experienced publishing partner. Our aim, at this watershed moment in the industry, is to foster a vital community of kindred spirits united by innovation, old-fashioned hard work and true independence. We exist to serve our artists-simple as that. Since our company's creation in 2012, we have expanded to represent such artists as St. Vincent, Beach House, My Morning Jacket, Pavement, Sharon Van Etten, Cy Coleman, and Preservation Hall Jazz Band. Our writers have shares on recent songs from Shawn Mendes, Panic! At the Disco, Charlie Puth, Niall Horan, Maroon 5, Pitbull, John Legend, and many more.
Intern Position:
The Film + TV department at Big Deal Music Group is looking for a capable and detail-oriented intern for the fall of 2018. Tasks will include updating our contacts database, tagging and evaluating songs, music research, film and television research, and various organizational/administrative tasks. The intern will assist on creative organization for servicings to music supervisors. Potential interns should have an interest in music publishing or creative licensing (i.e. music as it relates to film, television, video games, etc). This is not a paid internship.
Qualifications:
• Excellent leadership, communication (both written and oral), and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Google Docs
• Experience in the entertainment/media industry is beneficial
• Passionate about music as it relates to other media (film, television, video games, etc)
• College credit required
• Able to work 15 - 20 hours per week
• 3 month minimum commitment preferred
• Personal laptop required
• Dependable transportation required (preferably your own car)
