Overview:
An Account Executive (AE) should have several years of public relations experience including media pitching and press release writing, and be primed for the next level of their career by adding the following responsibilities:
Development of PR plans, media outreach, execution of additional activations (e.g. sponsorships, creative mailers, etc.), and some client communications/reporting. If needed, this would include assigning tasks for the campaign to team members (both below and above), managing action items and follow-up.
Daily client relations including providing campaign updates and input on campaign strategy.
Deliver high-quality written materials, including creative pitches, press releases, PR plans, timelines and media alerts.
Review/edit written materials from Associate Account Executives and Assistant Account Executives for quality control.
Serve as day-to-day client contact for select clients/projects.
Conduct strategic media relations, targeting key journalists and influencers across multiple industries.
Support, as needed, with new business activities, including brainstorm sessions, competitive research and development of strategies.
Possess a deep understanding of client offerings, technologies and the competitive landscape.
Qualifications:
A career-minded individual with a Bachelor's Degree in a related field and passion for communication and PR
3+ years of experience in PR or marketing communications with a focus on entertainment content, licensed products and interactive entertainment/video games
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organization and time management skills
Strong attention to detail
Excellent leadership skills
A proactive, team player who can manage projects from start to finish
A strong understanding of Web and social media tools
Proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint - and Google Doc equivalencies
