The Bergen Performing Arts Center (bergenPAC) is a theater of and for the community that it serves throughout northern New Jersey, by being a creative focus, educational resource, and engine of economic vitality. A not-for-profit 501 (c)(3) organization, bergenPAC's mission is to make live performing arts and arts education accessible to its diverse community by building a creative home for artists and teachers of excellence and relevance who entertain, enlighten, inspire, and inform their audiences and students. bergenPAC, as the leading cultural and arts educational institution in Northern New Jersey, shall guide and liberate the imagination of our youth and expand the lives of our adults. is seeking a dynamic Membership Manager to oversee its membership program and identify opportunities for growth. The qualified applicant will be an entrepreneurial-minded and highly motivated individual. The Membership Manager position will be tasked with maintaining and growing bergenPAC's membership program by bringing it to the next level.
Key responsibilities, include, but are not limited to:
· Oversee and effectively lead a membership and annual fund strategy and program for the acquisition and retention of members and annual fund donors.
· Identify and encourage innovative and creative approaches for building membership, upgrading members, and increasing annual fund support.
· Coordinate and manage membership events and oversee a calendar of events intended to engage and steward members and donors.
· Work closely with the Development Team to create new and exciting member events.
· Welcome new members by staying in close communication, providing new member packets.
· Cultivate relationships with existing and new members to engage them as lifelong donors of bergenPAC.
· Manage the VIP Member Lounge and be present on mutually agreeable show nights and identify ways to leverage the Lounge for events and cultivation.
· Stay in close communication with members regarding the renewal of their membership via letters, phone and in-person.
· Coordinate logistics and special membership experiences such as meet & greets, backstage tours, and signed memorabilia working with production, operations and programming departments.
· Work with members of the Performing Arts School, to engage parents in joining the Membership program.
· Create, track and report on membership revenue and expenses.
· Analyze year over year donations for individuals to increase revenue.
· Research and solicit potential individual donors.
· Oversee written materials including the Membership Brochure.
· Write solicitation letters and holiday and end-of-year solicitations, oversee design, printing and mailing of solicitations.
· Provide personal follow up with donors.
· Manage VIP room concierges.
· Other duties as required, and anything the CEO or Director of Development ask you to do for the betterment of bergenPAC's mission and business.
Skills & Experience:
· Bachelor's degree preferred with a minimum of three years of professional business development experience.
· Measurable track record and demonstrated success in membership and annual fund and/or direct marketing experience.
· Understanding of strategies to promote membership and to encourage retention and upgrades in membership.
· Flexible schedule and ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
· Demonstrated maturity, professionalism, communication and interpersonal skills.
· Excellent writing ability a must.
· Budget and financial management experience.
· Strong computer skills required. Experience with Raiser's Edge strongly preferred.
· Strong interest in the combination of business and arts preferred.
