Audio Studio Maintenance Assistant/Audio Technician

Key Responsibilities:
Understand, design, and manage audiovisual infrastructure
Coordinate with studio assistants and audio staff to maintain studio functionality and efficiency
Quickly identify and mitigate any technical issues to minimize studio downtime.
Maintain and operate audio hardware and software, workstations, and server spaces
Work independently and as part of a team when needed.
Take part in some post-production duties, including asset management and QC.
On occasion, assist with a studio expansion, including equipment requisition and stage buildout/construction.
Essential Requirements:
Proficiency in Pro Tools
Must be able to understand and diagnose any issues with audio, video, and network signal flows.
Be prepared to perform under pressure and maintain composure when faced with problems that require immediate solutions.
Comprehensive and thorough knowledge about the operation and troubleshooting of Avid ProTools systems and Apple OSX
Know and be able to work with various types of audio and video codecs and containers
The ideal candidate will have the following skills:
Strong comprehension of signal flow
Fabrication skills (Soldering, basic woodworking)
Audio, video, & network cable assembly
Experience with Avid Pro Tools HD Systems (troubleshooting and installation)
Knowledge of Avid ICON and EuCon-based control surfaces
Comprehension of house sync and word clock systems
Understanding of network-based audio formats (AVB, BLU-Link, Dante)
Familiarity with Source-Connect and other remote recording applications
Knowledge of digital tape formats and VTRs (HDCAM SR, DigiBeta)
DLP projector operation and essential maintenance
Understanding of basic IP networking concepts
Must be comfortable in using power tools such as drills, sawa, etc.
Proficient and knowledgeable with basic/light construction and building maintenance, such as framing, painting, plumbing, electrical, etc.
Note: Must be able to lift 60 lbs and perform some demanding physical actions, including sitting for long periods at a desk and being on your feet when necessary.
Job Type: Temporary Full-time to Permanent hire.
Range: $17 to $20, 3 months Temp-Fulltime, benefits apply after waiting period.
