As a Lead Audio & Machine Room Technician, you will report to the Studio Manager, who will value your attention to detail, technical skills, and ability to lead a team. You will create a collaborative and efficient workflow within the audio & tech team to provide an exceptional client experience. Your efforts with the diverse team will help keep projects on time and budget, your maintenance will keep systems running, your innovation will lead to efficiencies and better productions, and your hands will build the studio expansions and repairs. Using your experience and creativity, you will help guide team decisions and provide valuable feedback to your peers and the studio. As a member of the audio discipline, you'll always aim to find ways to teach and level up those around you while continuing to challenge yourself.

Responsibilities
• Manage, design, and understand audio infrastructure
• Quickly identify, diagnose and mitigate any technical issues with audio, video, and network signal flow to minimize studio downtime
• Maintain and operate audio hardware, software, workstations, and server spaces
• Work with IT on computer and server issues and maintenance for studio work spaces
• Coordinate and effectively communicate with various departments to maintain studio efficiency and functionality.
• Help develop the audio strategy for studio upgrades, maintenance, and expansions, with the input of various departments and executive team.
• Determine, present and manage audio goals, goals, timeline, etc.
• Maintain composure and be able to perform under pressure while providing exceptional customer service.
• Manage and knowledge to work with various types of audio/video codecs and containers.
• Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
• 4-years minimum professional experience designing critical audio systems, including planning, audio middleware implementation, and results validation
• 1-year minimum management experience.
• Professional experience with Avid Protools and Apple OSX
• Professional experience with testing and debugging implemented sounds within the engine
• Comprehensive knowledge of Dante Networks
• Professional experience of Avid ICON and EuCon-based control surfaces (D-Command, D-Control, Avid S3, and S6)
• Knowledge of audio middleware (Wwise, FMOD, Miles, etc.)
• Professional experience with audio, video, and network cable assembly
Ideal Qualifications
• Knowledge of Avid Audio Interfaces and Focusrite Rednet Line Interfaces
• Knowledge with Dolby Atmos workflows and configurations
• Knowledge and understanding of signal flow troubleshooting
• Understanding of network-based audio formats (AVB, BLU-Link, Dante)
• Extensive knowledge of ISDN and remote audio collaboration software (Source-Connect, IpDTL)
• Knowledge of digital tape formats and VTRs (HDCAM SR, DigiBeta)
• DLP projector operation and essential maintenance
• Apple Final Cut and Compressor
• Avid networked storage system administration (ISIS/NEXIS)
• OSX Server administration
• Knowledge of SIP-based phone systems
• Understanding of word clock, blackburst/house sync, and general synchronization of external audio devices
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year

Bang Zoom! Studios currently have 80% of employees working from home, and we are still conducting remote interviews. This position falls under the 20% of employees that are required to come into the studios. We require masks within our studios and provide personal protection equipment and sanitation stations throughout for your health and safety.
