JOB TITLE: Minor League Development Coach -- Pitching
DEPARTMENT: Player Development
JOB SUMMARY: The Baltimore Orioles are currently looking for a Minor League Development Coach – Pitching, serving as a uniformed coach at one of our minor league affiliates. This coach will generally support the player development goals of the coaching staff and work closely with front office resources to provide information to staff and players.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary duties will include, but not be limited to, the following:
• Work with pitching coaches to create development plans for all the pitchers.
• Communicate plans and progress to the pitching coaches and front office.
• Analyze pitcher performance using technology-based tools and data.
• Work with pitching coach and players towards pitcher development progress.
• Assist other field staff with normal daily operations (reports, throwing BP, hitting fungos, etc).
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
• Interest in player development and analytics.
• Significant baseball playing experience or experience coaching pitchers.
• Ability to handle new technology and challenges.
• Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Desired:
• Basic SQL knowledge a plus.
• Spanish skills a plus.
