Aviron Pictures is a Los Angeles-based company specializing in the marketing and distribution of theatrical film releases. The studio is managed by a team of Hollywood veterans and collaborates with experienced filmmakers to shepherd their motion pictures to the screen. Upcoming films on Aviron's slate include Serenity, a suspense thriller with Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway; The Informer, an action thriller starring Joel Kinnaman, Rosamund Pike, Clive Owen and Common; and After, the movie adaptation of Anna Todd's bestselling YA novels. Previously, Aviron spearheaded the theatrical marketing of 47 Meters Down, before distributing its own Kidnap, a suspense-thriller starring Halle Berry; the horror film The Strangers: Prey at Night and just recently A Private War, a portrait of legendary war correspondent Marie Colvin starring Rosamund Pike.
Aviron is looking for exceptional candidates who can commit either 2-3 full days a week or 3-5 consecutive half-days for hands-on internships in the Publicity and Promotions department, which is responsible for spearheading the strategy and execution of publicity, promotional and social media campaigns, including developing media and consumer-facing positioning and messaging, generating publicity/promotional/social assets, managing media relations and partnerships across mainstream and digital outlets, overseeing third-party marketing partnerships, producing events - including press junkets, premieres, publicity stunts, and our films' presence at film festivals and conventions - as well as liaising with talent and filmmakers.
Interns' responsibilities will also include general office duties in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates should be passionate about film, detail-oriented, have a professional demeanor and be able to work well under pressure and with absolute discretion. Prior experience of any kind in film/entertainment marketing is a plus.
