Aviron Pictures is a Los Angeles-based company specializing in the marketing and distribution of theatrical film releases. The studio is managed by a team of Hollywood veterans and collaborates with experienced filmmakers to shepherd their motion pictures to the screen. Upcoming films on Aviron's slate include Serenity, a suspense thriller with Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway; A Private War, a portrait of legendary war correspondent Marie Colvin starring Rosamund Pike; and Three Seconds, an action thriller starring Joel Kinnaman, Rosamund Pike, Clive Owen, Common and Ana de Armas. Previously, Aviron spearheaded the theatrical marketing of 47 Meters Down, before distributing Kidnap, a suspense-thriller starring Halle Berry, and the horror film The Strangers: Prey at Night.
Aviron is looking for exceptional candidates who can commit either 2-3 full days a week or 3-5 consecutive half-days for hands-on internships in the Publicity and Promotions department, which is responsible for spearheading the strategy and execution of publicity, promotional and social media campaigns, including developing media and consumer-facing positioning and messaging, generating publicity/promotional/social assets, managing media relations and partnerships across mainstream and digital outlets, overseeing third-party marketing partnerships, producing events - including press junkets, premieres, publicity stunts, and our films' presence at film festivals and conventions - as well as liaising with talent and filmmakers.
Interns' responsibilities will also include general office duties in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates should be passionate about film, detail-oriented, have a professional demeanor and be able to work well under pressure and with absolute discretion. Prior experience of any kind in film/entertainment marketing is a plus. The position is unpaid and candidates must be eligible to receive college credit.
