True Trainee Program Summary:
Here's your chance to experience a bold and dynamic organization firsthand. The Atlanta Hawks & State Farm Arena will be looking for passionate team players to participate in our 2021-2022 True Trainee Program. The program is designed to give top candidates real-life experience in the sports and entertainment industry, in addition to providing educational and networking opportunities. The program dates are September 2021-May 2022.
A quick summary about the Social Media Trainee role:
As a Social Media Trainee, you will be right in the action of running the social media accounts for our brand alongside the Social Strategy Manager and Social Media Coordinators. Primarily focused on content performance and distribution of content, you will help track post performance and draw insights from post metrics while helping bring our content calendar to life on social. This position will also assist with select marketing projects throughout the season as opportunities become available.
What the Social Media Trainee will be responsible for:
• Create social media reports for campaign recaps for Marketing and other departments.
• Help maintain social media tagging/reporting on our content management system.
• Distribute content on Atlanta Hawks, State Farm Arena, College Park Skyhawks, Hawks Talon GC, and other brand social media accounts as assigned.
• Assist in writing copy for social media posts.
• Assist in generating assets for posts from the content calendar.
• Attend Atlanta Hawks games, State Farm Arena events, Atlanta Hawks community events and other events to gather content as assigned.
• Help with social media post ideation as assigned.
• Stay current with social media trends and topics.
• Remain flexible and nimble to assist with broader marketing projects over the long-term as opportunities become available.
What the Social Media Trainee needs to have:
• Post Grad (recent college graduates within 24 months of graduation).
• Academic and/or Work experiences related to one or more of the following in Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or related field
• Knowledge of basketball and pop culture
• Obsession with social media trends and platforms
• Familiarity with social media post metrics
• Experience with social media reporting and analytics is preferred.
• Experience working in social media for a brand is a plus, but not required.
• Strong organizational skills, time management skills and attention to detail required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on business writing skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects.
• Ability to work independently without supervision, be self-directed and demonstrate initiative.
• Strong team synergy skills and ability to work collaboratively with others whom you have no direct authority over.
• Excellent ability to establish rapport with others and ability to build strong interpersonal relationships.
• Exhibit good judgment and decision-making skills.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, After Effecters, Premier, etc.) a plus, but not required.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends and be on-call as necessary based on the changing priorities of the department.

Relocation Information:
• Relocation and housing expenses are the responsibility of the Trainee. (Please note, this role must live and work out of the Atlanta, GA area.
