Human Resources Internship (The Atlanta Dream)
Start date: March 1, 2019
Support the Atlanta Dream Human Resources and Finance team by helping the departments achieve its customer service goals. The Human Resources Intern will directly assist the Chief Human Resources Officer with a wide range of projects related to HR compliance, onboarding/orientation, employee benefits, and payroll activities. This internship is designed to be both educational and practical. In this position, the intern will learn how to take skills she or he may have acquired in school related to his or her particular areas of interest, and apply them in a professional setting. He or she will gain a better understanding of the role that Human Resources can play in the professional sports space and be better prepared to work in the human resources field. The candidate will also have opportunities to network and interact with the organization's other corporate staff elements. Some of the duties include:
• Assist with on-boarding of corporate staff and Atlanta Dream Players
• Assist with building access and parking passes
• Assist with MARTA/Public Transportation card management
• Assemble and prepare payroll data
• Update job descriptions
• Prepare HR and Finance related reports as needed
• Assist in organizing game day events
• Answer customer-related inquiries
• Make updates to the company handbook
• Ability to move fast and a desire to grow in the sports industry
• HAVE FUN!
Requirements: Must be a current college student requiring college credit with a human resources or finance background. Other desired requirements are:
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and e-mail
• Familiarity with HRIS and personnel databases
• Excellent organizational and planning skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously
• Personable, able to comfortably and pleasantly deal with a variety of people
• Strong customer service skills
• Detail oriented
