Windows Desktop Support Engineer (contract)
Job Description
The Windows Desktop Engineer is a key contributor to the service function with ownership of our desktop platforms, providing efficient resolution of technical support incidents and IT related requests. The ideal candidate is an experienced engineer with excellent task management and troubleshooting abilities along with great communication and customer service skills, as well as a strong work ethic.
This role provides technical and troubleshooting support related to computer hardware/software and supports the delivery of the workstation model to end users with an emphasis on the Windows 10, Office 365 and endpoint management. This position will focus on key areas such as desktop engineering, client support, monitoring and servicing of the desktop environment. The goal is to drive efficiency through automating processes while making the desktop environment as optimal as possible for the end user experience.
Qualifications
• 5 years of experience in desktop engineering
• 2 years of experience with IBM Bigfix and Image Assist for Dell
• Preferred technical certifications such as Microsoft MCSA, CompTIA, A
• Experienced architecting Windows 7 to Windows 10 deployment
• Strong understanding of Active Directory, Windows operating system, Office 365
• Strong understanding of Windows profile management, folder redirection, offline files
Windows registry and other core operating system technologies
• Familiarity with Dell laptops, smartphones, tablets devices.
• Familiarity with VoIP telecommunications (Cisco) systems
• Familiarity with Google applications
• Documentation writing skills for software/hardware installation procedures
• Excellent customer service skills
• Prior experience with executive level and management
• Strong problem-solving, judgement and analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to lift/relocate equipment (about, but not limited to, 40 lbs) when necessary
