Job Description
As an ASCAP Senior Software Engineer, you'll be part of team designing, developing, and implementing software solutions, and you'll leverage your experience to build high-quality, innovative, and fully performing software in compliance with coding standards and technical design. You'll also use your leadership skills to act as an effective team lead.
Responsibilities:
• Translate application storyboards and use cases into functional applications
• Design, build and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Java/J2EE code
• Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems
• Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation
• Act as a technical lead for a team of software engineers
Required Skills:
• 10 years of J2EE web development
• Engineering / development experience working as a team lead, exhibiting strong leadership skills
• Proficient in J2EE, with a good knowledge of its ecosystems
• Familiar with AWS cloud services AWS services (EC2, VPC, ELB, S3, CloudFormation, RDS, SQS, etc)
• Experience in designing and creating RESTFul web services using JAX-RS
• Strong understanding and experience with implementing with EJBs, Struts, and JSPs
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming
• Skill for writing reusable Java libraries
• Understanding of key web fundamentals like CORS and browser security
• Familiar with various design and architectural patterns
• Familiarity with writing prepared statements and querying Oracle
• Knack for writing clean, readable Java code
• Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
• Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes
• Basic understanding of WebSphere Application Server
• Proficient understanding of Microsoft Team Foundation Server source control
