QA Analyst (Contract)
Job Description
As a QA Analyst, you will be involved throughout the development lifecycle of the ASCAP ISD team with particular responsibility in the quality assurance of software development and deployment with emphasis on manual test case creation and execution. You will be working closely with developers as they develop code to ensure requirements are being met and to the correct quality, and you will conduct manual tests to ensure the software created is fit for purpose. You will be responsible for creating, executing and managing test cases for various kinds of testing such as functional, end to end, integration and regression. Also, the proper reporting and tracking of bugs.
Key Responsibilities
• Work as part of cross functional, passionate Agile project teams to ensure quality is driven into the heart of the development process from requirements definition through to delivery.
• Translate functional requirements and specifications into documented test plans, cases and steps.
• Execute test plans manually and conduct manual functional and exploratory testing.
• Creation and maintenance of test data, tools and scripts.
• Contributing toward predictable delivery of quality releases.
• Identifying issues, risks and dependencies escalating and managing where appropriate.
• Report bugs and errors to development teams.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Required:
• 5-7 years of overall manual testing experience on both client server (Windows) and Web applications.
• Proven experience in writing and executing manual test cases (functional, end to end, integration, etc.)
• Thorough understanding of SDLC, QA processes in an Agile delivery environment.
• Excellent working knowledge of testing fundamentals and test case design techniques.
• Proficient with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g. qTest, Zephyr for JIRA) to support development processes.
• Ability to write simple to intermediate SQL scripts to create and manipulate data.
• Cross-Browser/Mobile device testing using tools such as Sauce Labs/Test Objects, Browser stack or any similar cloud platform.
• Ability to develop and maintain working relationships with a wide range of people.
• Employs a collaborative and team orientated approach.
• Great attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.
Preferred:
• Understanding of coding enterprise applications within Java, PHP, Python or other languages
• Experience with test automation frameworks.
• CTFL, ISTQB, CSQA or CSTE certified
• Degree level qualifications in a technical related subject
