Job Description
The Coordinator will support the Vice President, Business & Legal Affairs (BALA) with general administrative duties. In addition, the Coordinator is responsible for liaising with both the offices of the senior executive team and other departments to achieve the objectives of the Membership and BALA groups.
As needed, the Coordinator will also work closely with other members of the department to ensure that BALA's goals are met.
This is an ideal role for recent college graduates and those who are interested in gaining practical experience in the music publishing industry.
Responsibilities
• Coordinating response to complex or high-value Member legal issues
• Logging activity and maintaining projects within deal management database
• Routine phone management, scheduling, and organizing meetings for VP
• Ad hoc projects as directed by the VP
• Managing travel arrangements and budgets for VP
• Document management and filing
• Resolving interdepartmental administrative issues with respect to Member legal transactions (i.e., Finance, Distribution, etc.)
• Additional administrative responsibilities as needed
Qualifications
• Ability to think analytically, take direction well, and work independently
• Strong proficiency in Word and Excel
• Demonstrated attention to detail
• Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality
• Proven written and oral communication skills
• Prior experience with a law firm or in-house legal department a plus
• Experience handling stressful and time-sensitive matters with ease
• Strong academic background
• Bachelor's degree required
