Job Description
ASCAP is home to more than 800,000 music creator members across all genres - the greatest names in music, and thousands more in the early stages of their careers. We are the world leader in performance royalties, advocacy and service for music creators, and are the only Performing Rights Organization in the U.S. run by its members including songwriters, composers and music publishers.
The ASCAP HBCU Internship Program is designed to provide students from historically black colleges and universities with a unique opportunity to gain experience working in the music industry in a paid internship. Selected interns can expect ASCAP to:
(1) Provide each program participant with the opportunity to work in a department at ASCAP.
(2) Educate each program participant on the many innerworkings and departments at ASCAP to provide a broad understanding of the organization and its operations.
Opportunities for an internship at ASCAP are within the following departments:
• Marketing & Communications/Events Production;
• Membership (Film & TV, R&S/Urban, Country, Pop/Rock, Symphonic/Concert and Latin);
• Data Strategy;
• International Affairs;
• Finance;
• Licensing; and
• Global Technology Solutions.
Requirements:
• You must be a student currently enrolled at an HBCU
• Rising sophomores, juniors and seniors are welcome
• All majors
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
• Able to work 35 hours per week
• Passion for music and supporting artists
