Aruba Productions seeks a full-time Finance Manager to join our busy, fast-paced team. Aruba Productions manages multiple national tours, productions Off-Broadway and regionally, as well as an extensive list of production in development.
Working closely with the General Managers and Producers, the Finance Manager oversees the financial functions of multiple productions simultaneously, maintains internal controls and administers day-to-day financial procedures.
Responsibilities include:
· Maintaining general ledger activity for multiple projects, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, balance sheet, journal entries, and cash flow reports.
· Administering internal banking procedures, such as scheduling ACH payments and Wire Transfers.
· Generating financial reports (including Profit & Loss statements, Budget vs. Actual reports, etc.) on a weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly basis as required by project.
· Working with the General Managers to prepare and administer production and operating budgets and identifying. areas of concern as invoices come in.
· Overseeing payment onboarding procedures for new employees and independent contractors and maintaining employee records.
· Processing weekly payroll for all projects through third-party payroll company.
· Preparing year-end financial documents for annual audits and tax returns. Preparing and filing 1099s.
· Reconciling venue settlements and other earned revenue.
· Calculating and generating royalty reports and payments per contracts.
· Maintaining investor documents and processing distributions.
The successful candidate will possess:
· A demonstrated financial acumen with both management and bookkeeping/accounting experience in (preferably) a live entertainment or performing arts field.
· An advanced proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
· The ability to problem solve, think strategically, and communicate effectively with an array of team members and diverse stakeholders.
An advanced degree or certification (CPA) is not required; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
This in-person position (from company's offices in the Theatre District in Midtown Manhattan) is available immediately with an ideal start date of no later than September 1, 2021. All interested and qualified candidates should apply.
