Role Details
We are seeking a technically savvy TOC/NOC Operator who has a demonstrated knowledge of common operations and procedures. This person is a team player who works closely with other internal departments and has prior experience working large and smaller scale ad-hoc events.
Must be willing to work weekends, holidays & possible overnight shifts.
Ideally, this individual will have prior experience or knowledge with video encoding for video streaming.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Acquire, QC and monitor all live feeds taking place during your shift. Prepare backup workflows in the event of primary path failure and troubleshoot any issues that may arise in a swift and calm manner.
• Receive and transfer audio/video VOD assets and prep for on-air playback.
• Preform satellite downlinks, dark video fiber acquisitions and setup Internet Protocol feeds.
• Ability to comfortably operate TOC/NOC facility hardware and software to accomplish tasks at hand.
• Troubleshoot & log technical issues and report them to proper departments.
• Transferring and converting media formats for video playback delivery.
• Familiar with common social media platform backends that offer the feature to publish live video, such as YouTube Live, Twitch Live, Facebook Live, Twitter Media Studio, Periscope, Instagram, TikTok, Vimeo, etc.
Ideal Candidate:
• Must have strong attention to detail.
• A proven ability to manage a video related project from start to finish.
• Knowledgeable with broadcast/transmission hardware and software.
• Deep understanding of video formats, aspect ratios, framerates, 4K, HD.
• Degree in television broadcasting and/or equivalent previous work experience.
• Familiar with working with worldwide teleports.
• Previous experience with audio/video capture/ingest/encoding hardware and software.
• General knowledge of facility data networking and IP video transmission.
• Previous overnight shift experience a plus. Preference of overnight shifts is highly beneficial.
