PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Coordinator, Individual Giving is a full time-temporary position and an integral part of the Individual Giving team for the Institute, supporting a rapidly growing national program of donors from general membership ($60-$2,499), Premiere Circle ($2,500-$24,999) and Major Gifts ($25,000+). The Coordinator provides primary support to the Director, Individual Giving in administration of the Individual Giving department and collaborates with the Director, National Advancement in prospect research and event support. In addition, the Coordinator works closely with the Sr. Manager, Individual Giving to manage the member customer service and benefit fulfillment processes.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
Assist Individual Giving team with development of solicitation campaigns, benefit fulfillment and stewardship communication.
Prepare incoming contributions for gift processing and generate and distribute daily gift receipts for all Advancement departments.
Respond to member queries and concerns through the 1.800 phone line and Membership@AFI. com email account on a daily basis.
Troubleshoot membership issues with Advancement Systems team.
Oversee membership benefit fulfillment on a weekly basis, coordinating and trouble-shooting with outside fulfillment house. Manually prepare and mail complex and/or personalized acknowledgments.
Create and track acknowledgments for all Individual Giving programs, in addition to other channels of organizational support.
Manage stewardship for the AFI Conservatory Scholarship program, including preparing donor acknowledgments and coordinating correspondence with Fellows.
Work directly with CAO office on tracking scholarship budget and preparing gift transmittals.
Assist in all aspects of on-site member engagement during AFI FEST, including serving as the primary representative at the Membership Desk in the box office to field member questions, convert patrons into members and lead membership volunteers.
Coordinate mailings for Premiere Circle renewal, acquisition and special appeal campaigns on a monthly basis. Assist in strategies and tracks results.
Assist gift officers in identifying and researching viable prospects for the Premiere Circle, Major Gifts and National Council programs and track subsequent actions as part of the moves management process.
Assist in cleanup and maintenance of donor records in database as needed.
Work with Tessitura consortium to solve any database or constitutent issues relating to membership or stewardship.
Prepare and track purchase orders for vendor invoices.
Assist at various AFI special events as needed, including Individual Giving events, AFI FEST, AFI Life Achievement Award and summits of the AFI National Council.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned in support of Advancement and AFI's mission and goals.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum two years of professional experience in the areas of fundraising, communication, or customer service required.
• Minimum two years Administrative experience required.
• Exceptionally detail-oriented with the proven ability to handle numerous tasks with appropriate follow-up and reporting activities while not losing sight of the big picture.
• Can work independently while being an integral member of a high-functioning team.
• Proven project management skills with the ability to take a project from conception through completion with minimal supervision.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex concepts and procedures in simplistic terms.
• Strong time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills coupled with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
• Strong diplomacy skills and professionalism are mandatory; this includes the ability to maintain complete confidentiality and discretion at all times.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively via phone or in person to provide excellent customer service with donors, sponsors, event guests, vendors and staff.
• Superior database management and computer skills with expertise in Word and Excel. Experience with Tessitura is strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to handle numerous details with appropriate follow-up and reporting activities; extreme attention to detail.
• Possess a positive and professional attitude with the ability to work as a member of a high-energy, results oriented team.
• Ability to work calmly under pressure.
• Personal integrity with the ability to inspire confidence and trust.
• Availability to work occasional night and weekend events.
• Genuine interest in film and of AFI's mission.
