Visual Effects Executive (Consultant)
Amblin Partners, located in Universal City, is seeking a Visual Effects Executive. This role is responsible for end-to-end delivery of all Visual Effects elements for multiple feature film productions, including script breakdown, budget, schedule and managing visual effects crew. Candidates must live in Southern California or be willing to relocate to the work area when employment begins. Company is currently working remote however we anticipate a return to the office in Universal City within the next couple of months.
• Manages relationships with studio executives and filmmakers to deliver projects on-budget and on-schedule.
• Reviews scripts, storyboards, & previs with filmmakers to execute shot methodology to influence the show bidding process.
• Provides visual effects breakdowns and budgets for all projects.
• Hires visual effects production team including visual effects supervisor and producer
• Oversees vendor bidding and contract negotiation.
• Liaises between Production, Editorial and Vendors and tracks shots through final delivery.
• Monitors changes to scope of work, including shot turnovers, rebidding, and production changes. Resolves budget and/ or creative concerns as needed.
• Schedules and maintains facility deliveries and effectively communicates changes to Studio Management and filmmakers.
• Understands vendor scale, quality, and capacity.
• Help identify incentives in conjunction with Studio Production Finance department.
• Weekly visual effects cost report review with Prod Finance to manage all aspects of department budget, show contracts, accurate projections, and reporting.
• Attends visual effects reviews with studio and filmmakers and facilitates feedback as needed.
• Maintain industry leading knowledge of current technology and trends impacting the visual effects industry.
• Travel to location may be required for oversight during prep/ shoot periods.
To be considered, candidates must have a minimum of 8 years experience in feature film visual effects with at least 3+ years as a visual effects producer or equivalent management experience.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a high-pressure environment
