Full Time Job
The Original Movie Strategy team is seeking a Sr. Strategy Manager to join our Los Angeles-based group. The team works closely with senior leaders across creative development, content acquisition, finance, business affairs, marketing and production, and has a high degree of visibility within the organization. The candidate will have a sophisticated understanding of the economics that drive the motion picture business, and be able to complete detailed, data-based, inquiries into key business questions. The candidate will have a demonstrated ability to build complex financial models, and communicate findings in a clear way to senior management.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate movies up for greenlight that are released theatrically or exclusive to Prime Video including fully financed films and acquisitions
- Analyze Prime Video engagement projections and financial risk and reward of various movie deal structures
- Write strategy documents providing recommendations on content investments, slate strategy, business planning and distribution channels
- Work with internal teams including finance, production, marketing, research and creative within Amazon to establish best practices in reporting and forecasting
- Build and refine KPI's across movies, as well as coordination between series and movies in terms of shared goals for content planning
- Assess new business opportunities, investments and partnerships within and outside of Amazon
- Perform extensive competitive analysis and benchmarking, and identify and report on market trends
Qualifications
• 5 years of experience in investment banking, management consulting, or strategy/business development at a major media or technology company
• Excellent analytical capabilities and experience using complex modeling and analysis to inform key business decisions
• Advanced to expert level Excel skills and familiarity with statistical concepts/analysis
• Solid understanding of media and entertainment landscape, new digital trends and technologies
