Amazon Video is changing the way people watch movies and TV shows and is now available in more than 200 countries. Amazon is looking for an experienced digital content licensing and production executive with a proven background in thought leadership, detailed execution, complex negotiations and people development to lead the teams in Japan, India and other international locations.
As a leader of this function, you will use robust data and informed judgment to find the right opportunities to add licensed and original programming for Prime Video around the world. To do so, you will also steward strategic relationships with leagues, properties and other rights holders.
The ideal candidate has experience initiating new business relationships as well as managing existing relationships, is skilled at both selling and closing new business concepts, and driving hard for the best terms possible. Our ideal candidate also possesses extensive experience working with counsel to effectively negotiate contracts and is also adept at financial modeling to determine the best deal structure and terms while working collaboratively with an internal financial counterpart.
This position will be based in Los Angeles.
Responsibilities
include:
• Developing acquisition plans, financial metrics, and goals for senior management. -
• Establishing strong relationships with rights holders at a decision-making level.
• Expanding content selection from existing content partners, identifying potential new partners, and negotiating and executing content licensing and production agreements.
• Driving improvements in all agreements Amazon maintains with content suppliers. -
• Working with appropriate leaders and across all functional areas within Prime Video to building successful and integrated content offerings globally.
• Working with teams in multiple international locations.
Preparing and giving business reviews to senior leaders.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• BS/BA required. Advanced degree strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of digital video landscape, including solid understanding of digital video distribution technologies
• Proven track record in creating a content licensing strategy, movies and TV distribution/licensing/production, ability in negotiating complex license and/or business development agreements in high pressure environments
• Deep understanding of media licensing models, evaluation metrics and deal terms; ability to understand and devise new models that work
• 10 years of experience in content licensing and content strategy
• Experience living and working abroad in multiple countries.
• Excellent relationship management, communication and organizational skills
