Amazon Studios is hiring a Creative Assistant to assist 2 executives (1 in development and 1 in development/production) in the Genre Development department. Projects from this team and desk include the upcoming Wheel of Time, Paper Girls (based on the Brian K Vaughan comic), Lightyears (JK Simmons, Sissy Spacek), and Lord of the Rings. Candidate must have at least 1 year of agency or TV desk experience, strong administrative skills, can do script coverage, update and create grids and submission logs, and manage travel and expenses.
The successful candidate is highly organized and detail oriented. They must be able to react with appropriate urgency to situations and events that require quick response or turnaround; and efficiently and creatively solve difficult or complex problems that affect people within the group or other related groups. The candidate will also have great attention to detail while still meeting tight deadlines, have great organization skills and have the ability to switch gears at a moment's notice and the capability to complete high volumes of complex tasks and projects quickly in a professional manner. A high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information and professionalism in dealing with senior professionals inside and outside the company is key. This is a growth opportunity for someone passionate about development and physical production.
Key responsibilities include:
• Act as a liaison to other Amazon Studios departments, including BA/Legal, Production and Post Production, and Marketing
• Evaluate the quality of scripts and offer creative feedback as well as production assessments.
• Track writers and directors, production & costume designers, and cinematographers
• Create weekly development and production tracking reports
Qualifications
• Experience with executive level calendar management
• Experience with domestic and/or international travel coordination
• Experience with Microsoft Office Products
• 2 years of professional experience
• BA/BS or equivalent experience
• Previous experience as an assistant at an agency, studio or production company.
• Previous experience working as a story analyst, story editor, or in film development.
