We are seeking a Content Acquisition Manager to manage music publishing operations across all of our music services.
You will be responsible for managing our royalty operations and content licensing strategy to provide the best music experience and content selection for our customers. This is a multi-faceted role, where you will be valued for wearing multiple hats and working across traditional boundaries. The ideal candidate has a passion for music, an entrepreneurial spirit, and experience in rights administration, both in the US and internationally.
Key responsibilities:
• Cultivate productive relationships with music rightsholders. Communicate proactively and take prompt ownership of client issues.
• Ensure that reports, invoices, and payments flow seamlessly between external rightsholders and internal partners.
• Optimize business processes and operational workflows. Find creative solutions, establish structure, and lead projects that drive efficiency.
• Create models to support financial projections, license negotiations, and risk analyses.
• Specify new reports and systems to support our business. Document requirements and partner with engineering teams to drive implementation.
• Track content availability and manage publishing rights in collaboration with Operations and Label Relations teams
• Perform music copyright research
• Manage weekly research prioritization with third party rights administrator
• Review royalty calculations and statements for accuracy
Qualifications
• 3 years of experience in a Finance, Operations, or similar role
• Strong MS Excel skills. Ability to use advanced formulas and design visually-compelling spreadsheets
• Ability to analyze and wrangle data in various formats
• Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to own/create new programs and processes
• Proactive attitude; willingness to roll up sleeves and dig deep to achieve goals
• Sound work ethic with strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Excellent quantitative analysis, problem solving and project management skills
• Ability to develop ideas independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Bachelor's degree required
