Amazon Studios launched in 2010 and has since created and distributed Oscar nominated and winning films, Emmy Award and Golden-Globe winning TV series, and has a number of first look and overall deals with top talent, showrunners, and producers. IP-based adaptations are a key part of Amazon Studios' slate, including Jack Ryan, Good Omens, Modern Love, Homecoming, Beautiful Boy, Last Flag Flying, Wonderstruck, as well as projects in the works based on Lauren Oliver's Panic, Taylor Jenkin Reid's Daisy Jones and the Six, Casey McQuiston's Red White and Royal Blue, among others.
Amazon Studios' IP & Literary Department is seeking a Data Engineer to support and contribute to our scouting operations, which functions across the entire Studio, inclusive of domestic film & TV divisions, as well as our global and local-language film & TV teams.
Responsibilities
will include willingness to pay model,work w/ finance to figure out new work stream and trigger points to run the model/financial threshold. budgeting and cost tracking, helping source new material, managing the compilation of bi-weekly and annual book-fair scouting / tracking reports, review of foreign rights guides, contributing to creative evaluations of literary material, managing coverage readers and the department's internal database, . meeting and pitch participation, interacting with creative teams, aiding in rights checks and book-fair-scheduling, as well as light travel. The ideal candidate is a team-player with a deep and voracious passion for literature and tv/films, is eager to learn, extremely thorough and also effective with time management, and enjoys building relationships. They should also pride themselves on trustworthiness and handle confidential information and materials with discretion and care.
Qualifications
• Bachelors degree
• Accounting experience
• Experience with data pull and analysis for book sales, IP assessments and valuation, systems infrastructure
• Minimum 2 years experience in publishing, film, or TV industries
• Basic knowledge of literature, authors, and on-screen adaptation
