Full Time Job
We are seeking a Production Operations Manager on the Production Strategy & Planning team. The team focuses on initiatives, processes, tools, and workflows to improve operational performance across the entire lifecycle of production. The Production Operations Manager will lead projects to streamline processes, centralize reporting, and deliver insights that drive operational excellence for global production efforts. The role will gather business requirements, prioritize trade-offs, document functional and project progress, identify appropriate resources needed, assemble the right project team, assign individual responsibilities, and develop the milestones and launch schedule to ensure timely and successful delivery of the project.
We are looking for someone who both is passionate about the work to make television and movies, and equally passionate about applying both simple and complicated tech solutions at a start-up studio. The ideal candidate can solve highly ambiguous problems, drive product adoption across teams, set strategic roadmaps, and prioritize trade-offs. S/he can operate with little direction. The role relies heavily on influence over authority to drive project deliverables.
The production operations manager's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Centralize and streamline reporting across all production & operations departments (physical production, post production, and localization).
• Identify, recommend, and implement process and workflow improvements that help production operations scale rapidly.
• Set and analyze operations metrics and benchmarks for production planning, delivering insights on our production efficiency on series and movies.
• Establish and improve existing templates and/or databases that organize vital information and workflows
• Identify and analyze operational benchmarks for production planning, monitoring for and developing mechanisms to ensure data integrity of information related to the operations of our shows.
• Develop mechanisms and solutions that drive operational precision, collaborating across many verticals, including content (Casting, BA, etc.), data analytics, and tech.
• Contribute to business documents related to operational excellence and the production lifecycle.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• 7 years experience product / project management experience
• Demonstratible experience with navigation, cross-communication, and alignment of teams across organizations
• Experience working with large-scale, complex datasets
• 5 years of experience with Excel and statistics and visualization tools (e.g. Tableau)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Versatile collaborator that can present and context switch across broad spectrum of stakeholders
• Experience with navigation, cross-communication, and alignment of teams across organizations
• Communicates complex operational, business and customer needs in a clear and easy-to-understand way, both written and verbal
• Prioritizes effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Flexible, self-directed, and accustomed to lean environments
• Deep interest about making TV and movies
• Knowledge of creative, production, post production processes and related workflows
• Experience working with product and engineering teams
• Knowledge of Jira and/or other product tracking/management tool, SQL and BI tools
• Meets/exceeds Amazon's leadership principles requirements for this role
• Meets/exceeds Amazon's functional/technical depth and complexity for this role
