The Amazon Studios team is shaping the future of digital video entertainment. The Amazon Studios finance team is seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to drive improvements that span across financial planning & analysis, analytics, and evaluating new business development opportunities. A successful candidate will have the ability to tackle multiple projects and efficiently execute deliverables. The right individual will have exceptional finance skills and strong understanding of Finance & Accounting principles, solid analytical skills, and firm business judgment capable of driving an organization to the right results.
He or she will have operated successfully in a fast-paced, global, results-oriented environment and have the ability to influence the decisions of senior business leaders through effective verbal and written communication, logical reasoning, and the presentation of analyses. The successful candidate must be able to think and act both strategically and tactically. Strong oral and written communication skills are crucial, as well as ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, and prioritize.
The team needs a self-starter, who is able to work autonomously and drive cross-functional projects involving teams such as FP&A, Content Production & Operations, Marketing, Research/Analytics, Accounting, and various other teams. The candidate will need to able to collaborate with business partners both domestically as well as abroad and must display strong initiative for anticipating and meeting the business demands of senior-level executives.
This position will be based in Santa Monica, CA.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning financial models to analyze content investments. This will require strong modeling skills and developing robust analytical frameworks. Also, the ability to effectively collaborate with various teams throughout the organization to gather inputs and build reporting processes is hugely important.
- Partnering with various FP&A teams and accounting team members across the globe to construct and implement improvements relating to the financial forecasting/planning process.
- Own FP&A duties relating to forecasts, month-end close, strategic annual operating plans
- Create new tools/systems/dashboards that enable teams throughout Digital Video to analyze the performance for Amazon Originals.
- Working closely with business and finance partners to support and influence new and existing content strategies.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business and/or similar field
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior experience in media and entertainment is a plus
- Experience working on new business opportunities / product launces
- Proficiency in Cognos TM1, SQL, Oracle, and database management
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally, manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously, and drive projects to completion
- Ability to build and manage complex financial models for business forecasting and analysis
- Experience working with large data and developing scalable solutions for financial reporting and forecasting.
-Previous FP&A experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills. Highly detail-oriented.
- Must be able to work independently, be a self-starter and be prepared to have a hands on approach.
