POSITION: Broadcast Streaming Engineer

Role Details
We are looking for a broadcast encoding and streaming engineer to join our team.
We are seeking a technically well-rounded individual with a deep knowledge of broadcast streaming and encoding, and with a strong experience background.
Ideally, a person that can excel with a smaller, close-knit team working on regularly occurring and occasional large event-based multi-deployment ad-hoc events.
Basic Qualifications:
• Expert knowledge in video streaming protocols such as HLS, DASH, RTMP, RTP, Zixi, and SRT
• Fundamental understanding of content delivery networks (CDN) such as Akamai.
• Fundamental knowledge of computer networking.
• Expert proficiency with video compression (H264 and HEVC), encoding, decoding, streaming, and transcoding.
• Expert proficiency with AWS Elemental Live encoders.
• Extensive experience with AWS video transmission and video processing services such as MediaConnect, MediaLive, MediaPackage.
• Extensive experience with 4K video workflows.
• Proficiency in using CLI: Terminal (Mac) with CURL commands, Putty, Rest API (AWS Elemental).
• Knowledge of all common social media platform backends that offer the feature to publish live video, such as YouTube Live, Twitch Live, Facebook Live, Twitter, Media Studio, Periscope, Instagram, TikTok, Vimeo, etc.
• Fundamental understanding of video acquisition formats and signal paths, such as an ASI downlink from a Satellite RF, IP transmissions over the open internet, SRT, and ASI or SDI transmission over fiber circuits.
Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as necessary, specifically for live event support.
Must be self-motivated, entrepreneurial, detail-oriented, and innovative.
Experience working in life broadcast environments, where success depends on quick and accurate technical decisions.
Experience solving problems under pressure of event launch deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Expertise with Zixi Broadcasters, Feeders, Receivers.
• Expertise with Wowza Streaming Engine.
• Experience working with DRM
• Working knowledge in operating Inlet/Cisco AnyRes Live encoders.
• Working knowledge in operating LiveU encoders and LiveU receive servers.
• Video/Television Production, Video Engineering, and/or Post Facility experience is a strong advantage
• Linux OS knowledge is beneficial
Salary:
Salary based on experience.
