Alabama Public Television (APT) is seeking to fill a Junior Digital Media Producer - Education position. This is a full-time, Foundation position located in Birmingham, AL. The Junior Digital Media Producer is an integral member of Alabama Public Television's (APT) Education team and will play a key role in the creation of content for APT's digital platforms. Under the direction of the Director of Education Production & Digital Media, the Junior Digital Media Producer will work closely with the Digital Content Producer, Multimedia Producer, Education and Design teams to create digital-first and socially optimized videos, website copy, interactives, and other content for web, social and mobile optimized platforms. Responsible for the loading of finished material and upkeep of backend (CMS) systems. Understands best practices for social video and the constantly changing landscape of digital media.
Requirements: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience (qualifying experience above the minimum may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis) in Digital Media, Production, Design, Communications or relevant field, one year digital content experience, solid knowledge of Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro or other media editing software, experience working in digital video production, familiarity with web content management systems, strong attention to detail, graphic design knowledge, strong verbal & written communication skills, ability to prioritize & coordinate with other team members, flexibility to work non-traditional hours as needed to meet deadlines, valid driver's license & the ability to travel as needed.
Preferred: Additional qualifications in graphic design, animation, photography or videography a plus.
