Actors Launchpad is looking for a part-time Audition Taping Reader and Class Monitor to help with the day-to-day operations of a busy Education and Events program.
Actors Launchpad offers classes, seminars, workshops, events, audition taping, and networking opportunities for professional actors, singers, and dancers in New York City.
The Audition Taping Reader and Class Monitor will report directly to the team leader. Additionally, the role will help support the office activities of the parent company, Six Legions Media, as needed.
As Audition Taping Reader and Class Monitor, your primary goals will be:
• Organize and execute the daily audition taping calendar
• Monitor classes and workshops to make sure they are running smoothly, which may include, but are not limited to: setting up the classroom, welcoming and meeting guest needs, operating a video camera, acting as an off-camera reader for the guests with acting sides, facilitating a comfortable and welcoming environment for all guests
• Act as a reader and/or camera operator for classes, workshops, and audition tapings (training provided)
• Edit and upload class and audition footage
• Maintain proper record keeping and reporting of all programs including outcome reports, activities and events, participation figures, notable achievements, and any problems/issues
• Promote and communicate program information to members, including upcoming events
• Collaborate with all departments within Six Legions Media
• Adhere to, promote, and represent all Six Legion Media brands and their mission and values
Qualifications & Desired Skills:
• 4-year college degree, preferably in performing arts, but open to the right candidate with other degrees.
• Experience with Audio/Visual equipment, but will train the right candidate
• Outgoing and personable
• A thorough understanding of (or an eagerness to learn) the needs, quirks, and idiosyncrasies of the New York City acting business
• Outstanding oral, written and interpersonal skills
• Dynamic, creative, flexible, and extremely well-organized
• Extremely well-organized
• Seriously, you need to be organized
• Strong work ethic, and sound judgment
• All applicants must submit to and pass a Background check
A successful candidate should possess:
• Strong sense of judgment and common sense
• Critical thinking skills; ability to solve problems without immediate oversight or intervention from superiors
• A willingness to get the job done
• A commitment to the specific vision and mission of Six Legions Media
• Interpersonal skills that are second-to-none
• An amazing sense of humor
• High energy and maturity
Additional Comments: Interviews will take place in early January with an immediate start date upon hire.
Salary: Hourly $15.00 per hour
Hours: Approx. 15-20 hours per week
