Full Time Unpaid Internship
ABC/Freeform Consumer Insights Internship (Remote) Summer 2021
Job Summary:
The ABC/Freeform Content Research & Insights department oversees content, brand, social media and strategy research projects for ABC, Disney Television Studios and Freeform. They conduct qualitative and quantitative research with entertainment consumers and monitor fan-driven and network-driven activity on social media to inform and impact departments across the division, including Development, Programming, Marketing, and Strategy teams.
Responsibilities:
A Day in the Life:
• Participating in pilot and promo testing by watching content, creating questionnaires and populating reports
• Assisting in data analyses, proof-reading surveys, discussion guides and reports
• Collecting and analyzing social media data related to key Walt Disney Television series through the use of social listening and analytics tools
• Producing regular reports/memos on industry news and trends
• Viewing and analyzing focus groups
Basic Qualifications:
• A passion for television
• Strong strategic critical thinking and analytical skills
• Social media savvy with proven competency across social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc.
• Superior written communication skills
• Proactive and able to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail
• Relationship builder, who excels in a collaborative environment
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge and understanding of TV research and Nielsen software
• Experience creating data visualizations in Tableau
• Experience using social listening or other text analytics tools
• Previous experience working at a network or studio (research department preferred)
Required Education
• Junior, Senior (or recently graduated) with a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Entertainment, Business, Sociology, Psychology or other related field
Additional Information:
Eligibility:
• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class, or be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university within the last eighteen (18) months at time of application, or be currently participating in a Disney Professional Internship Program.
• Must possess unrestricted work authorization.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
Work Environment:
• This internship is a remote internship. The internship requires a working, reliable internet connection as well as a quiet, dedicated work space and the ability to work independently.
• Must be available to work 40 hours a week for the duration of the internship.
• The approximate dates of this internship are May-August.
• Must provide a consistent, reliable work schedule.
• Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
