Multimedia Digital Reporter - Project Hire (ABC News)
Job Summary:
ABC NEWS WASHINGTON is hiring a MULTIMEDIA REPORTER in the DIGITAL UNIT (Project Hire).
This is a Project position and employment will continue on this Project (at the company's sole discretion), and in no event shall extend past the completion of the Project.
Responsibilities:
The Reporter will be responsible for general assignment reporting and may be asked to contribute to other platforms such as Live, TV, and radio. The ideal candidate is a digitally-savvy journalist who can work quickly and smartly in a highly competitive, web-first environment to generate and turn stories, web produce content, edit on occasion and work with internal partners on news coverage. Familiarity with ABC News platforms, and an ability to communicate well with correspondents and senior editorial leaders, and experience turning fast digital copy on various platforms are musts in this job. Flexibility in terms of hours and assignments is critical, and some travel should be expected.
Basic Qualifications:
A minimum of three (3) years journalism experience in a news environment with extensive writing, reporting, and web producing is required. Candidate must have superior news judgment and ability to find primary sources to identify and follow stories, including breaking and long-term futures reporting. Significant political and/or government reporting experience for digital is highly desirable.
Required Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
