Job Summary:
The Director, HR Business Partner serves as the strategic lead for all HR work across ABC News within Walt Disney Television. The ideal candidate has strong business acumen and broad-based HR knowledge, along with sophisticated consultation and leadership skills.
Responsibilities:
• Actively consult with senior business leaders to identify and evaluate the right work to optimize the organization, retain top talent, and help propel the business forward in a fast-moving, disrupted market.
• Lead an HR team in the development and execution of solutions that bring HR strategies to life aligned with ABC News' distinct culture, including:
• Business strategies that enable organizational effectiveness and efficiency
• Talent development and retention practices
• Organizational design and development
• Performance management coaching and practices
• Change management
• Workforce insights to inform org and talent decisions
• Leadership development programs and resources to support the business, organization and talent priorities
• Proactively integrate functional partners into the above work as needed, providing critical context to support the overarching strategy.
• Provide expert advice and counsel to leaders on all talent and organizational issues, encouraging diversity of thought to promote an inclusive culture.
• Actively manage and develop a team.
• Provide ongoing performance coaching and feedback to the assigned business's leaders regarding issues of management style, communications, and employee and peer interactions.
• Interview candidates for key operational or leadership roles within the assigned businesses.
Basic Qualifications:
• 10 years in increasingly responsible Human Resources roles including direct involvement with senior business executives in creatively driven, entrepreneurial business environments
• Significant experience and proven track record of accomplishment in organizational development and change management processes.
• Experience at growing and leading a high-performing HR team
• Well-developed influencing and consulting skills
• Proven ability to proactively translate evolving business objectives to effective HR strategies
• Relevant experience driving complex org design, talent and change strategies
• Strong experience in the creation and execution of communication strategies.
• Possesses both strategic thinking capability and ''hands on'' HR plan implementation experience.
• Strong influence, interpersonal skills and overall leadership capability.
• Strong conceptual ability coupled with a proven record of accomplishment of implementing HR and organization initiatives.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws pertaining to the employment relationship.
Required Education
Bachelor's Degree required
Preferred Education
MBA or relevant graduate degree preferred
