Coordinator – Partnerships & Synergy (ABC Entertainment)
Job Summary:
Walt Disney Television Synergy and Partnerships teams play a key role in promoting our shows and building the ABC brand. On this team, you'll contribute to a wide range of marketing strategies and tactics that serve to drive awareness around key network programming. The team works to further corporate priorities and Disney - ABC Television Group business initiatives through managing ongoing relationships both internally across the network and externally with third party brands, corporate partners, distribution partners, studios, affiliates, etc. The team is also responsible for the development and execution of large-scale events, screenings and experiential marketing stunts and initiatives.
The Coordinator of Synergy and Partnerships will be responsible for supporting all team members with a variety of projects as needed to help maximize partnership and promotional opportunities for the company. Specifically, the candidate is a self-starter who has a passion for television and requires moderate oversight in performing his or her duties. The Coordinator should have a strong background in communications, account management, and entertainment marketing and have an understanding of television marketing strategies and initiatives. The position reports to the Senior Manager of Synergy and the Senior Manager of Strategic Partnerships.
Responsibilities:
Synergy:
• Contribute to overall synergy support by identifying appropriate executions with other lines of business, trafficking assets for air, tracking all efforts and creating final recap decks to share with partners and internal stakeholders
• Assist in maintaining strong relations with Disney synergy partners at all levels to keep abreast of opportunities including: Disney , The Walt Disney Studios, ESPN, Disney Channel, FX,Nat Geo, Freeform, Radio Disney, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, Disney on Broadway, Marvel, Lucas Films and Hollywood Records and more.
• Work in tandem with Current Executives, Legal and BS&P to obtain necessary clearances for all synergy-related script mentions
• Oversee ABC's Walt Disney Theme Park presence and update print (posters, billboards) and video (resort reel) placements as needed
• Participate in synergy/marketing forums to promote ABC Television Network and to create opportunities for co-marketing. Assist with creation of presentation materials for synergy forums as required
Partnerships:
• Contribute to the development and execution of promotional campaigns with strategically-selected consumer brands including partner identification, competitive research, concept development, contact sheet management, pitch deck development, execution, and recap decks/wrap reports
• Serve as a key point of contact for creative routings, working closely with ABC Creative Services, Legal and Business Affairs teams to secure all necessary approvals, and communicating all feedback to partners in a clear and timely manner
• Assemble marketing toolkits for key priorities and distribute to partners as appropriate (affiliates, non-profits, etc).
• Contribute to the development and execution of large-scale live events (CMA Fest, Comic-Con, D23, etc.), screenings, and other experiential marketing initiatives and stunts
• Assist with management of content partnerships by identifying key spots and episodes, securing music clearances and approvals, submitting production orders and coordinating deliveries
• Contribute to maintaining strong relationships with partners such as iTunes, Hulu, YouTube, cable affiliates (Comcast, DIRECTV, Charter, etc.), content networks and external studios
General:
• Manage the development of promotional premium items for events, gifting and stunts, ensuring that all items are on brand and adhere to company quality requirements
• Establish positive and effective relationships and processes with ABC Marketing Strategy, Creative Services, Production, Media, Music and Legal/BA teams ensuring in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of brand strategies, consumer promotion tactics and best practices
• Administrative tasks as assigned (manage team invoices and budget sheets, input projects into internal project management system, SAP, data reporting, recaps and tracking, etc.)
• Share creative ideas for growth, efficiency and collaboration with team
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in entertainment or related industry within marketing and or partnerships and synergy.
• Experience supporting 2 or more executives/team members.
• Experience with Photoshop and KeyNote
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and interpersonal, expressing ideas, thoughts, or facts in a clear, convincing, and organized way
• Highly organized and able to work independently on projects – attention to detail is imperative
• Self-starter with strong initiative and problem solving skills - the candidate must demonstrate good judgment and be able to think on his/her toes
• Ability to efficiently handle a large quantity of projects and tasks simultaneously under deadline, deal effectively with pressure, and complete a task with minimal direction or instruction
• Out-of-the-box thinker with a passion for developing creative marketing ideas and concepts
• Ability to understand and execute strategic key initiatives while demonstrating an inherent understanding of the ''big picture'' when approaching tasks
• Ability to work long hours including some nights, weekends and holidays and to travel when needed
• Experience with Microsoft Office – Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint
• Problem solver with positive, can-do attitude, resourceful
Preferred Qualifications:
• Strong knowledge of ABC Television Network programming preferred as well as competitive landscape
• Strong knowledge of The Walt Disney Company and personal affinity for the brand desired
Preferred Education
• - Academic focus in a related field: Communications, English, PR, etc.
