THE ROLE: Technician, Technical Operations (Temp)
This role will assist the Technical Operations team in the daily operations of the various disciplined operators responsible for standardizing, vetting, archiving and delivery of incoming media, finished content and projects. This role reports directly to the Senior Manager of Technical Operations.
MORE ABOUT WHAT YOU'LL DO:
• Assist Supervisor of Productions Media Operations with standardizing and vetting field shoot media (pre-shoot / post-shoot).
• Assist the Administrator of Technical Operations with media management and archive for Avid Media Composer / Adobe Premiere Pro.
• Assist the Production Media Archivist with media migration from legacy storage infrastructure into the current hybrid archive workflow.
• Assist the Production Media Coordinator with the deployment and training of a new hybrid cloud edit / post-production tool.
• Assist the Supervisor of Technical Operations with creating and deploying automated workflows for transcode and delivery of files to other network partners, domestic and internationally.
• Assist the Lead Technicians with troubleshooting issues reported to the Technical Operations team.
• Assist Sr. Manager of Technical Operations with planning and communication of long term projects, and revising of standard operating procedure documentation.

• Working in a fast-paced post production environment that produces long form and short form content for networks including History, A&E, and Lifetime.
• Problem solving technical and operational challenges alongside engineers and technicians.

• Training and workflow development with clients including Producers and Editors.
YOUR STORY: [ BEHAVIORS] (what you need to have)
• BA/BS in Communications or related field or related vocational education.
• 2 years television post production experience or similar, in a fast-paced, high volume facility.
• Experience with Avid Interplay (PAM, Transcode, Archive, Access), Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premiere Pro NLEs, file-based workflows, asset management systems, and emerging technologies.
• Understanding of tiered storage and archive workflows.
• Working knowledge of all industry file formats and codecs; including but not limited to all camera raw file formats.
• Ability to work unsupervised to provide hands-on support, guidance, and troubleshooting for technical testing and client support as well as communicate evolving workflows and procedures.
• Ability to manage expectations of client base while maintaining a customer service approach.
• Flexibility in shift work, including night shift availability as needed.
