Supervise and apply technical oversight, support, solutions and troubleshooting throughout all facets of the A E studio, remote and campus productions and events that the Production Operations team oversees. In addition, successfully hold various crew and operational positions as needed within the technical chain surrounding all studio, remote and campus productions and events.
Supervise the Live and Studio Production team's responsibilities within all live and live-to-tape studio productions across the New York Studio 7e as well as the Brooklyn 1KD studio. Shows will include, but not limited to, A&E's Live PD, A E Programming's original studio shows as well as Social Media Live hits. Pre-production and operational application as needed on a show-by-show basis. Execute technical facility checklist, to ensure all operations are functioning as planned. Prepare studio media recording for various enterprise fulfillment: editing, distribution, and archive.
Represent the Production Operations team on A&E's LivePD live show on Friday and Saturday night. Supervise and execute facility technical checklist, coordinate with show team, New York and Stamford Engineering each evening to prepare for the live broadcast. Prepare and test all archival records, including multi-channel AirSpeed and Ki-Pro records, to ensure enterprise fulfillment of the show is correct. As the point person for issues and fixes for the show's Mirror broadcast and West Coast Premieres, strategize, communicate and execute with autonomy the all broadcast protocols, edits, and solutions that fall in line with all Network Operations SOPs, as well as Legal and S&P best practices. In addition to being the sole Production Technical Operations representative in the building during this show, this position must represent the Production Management team as needed.
Successfully execute various technical crew positions across all studio, remote and campus events that the Live and Studio Production team supports; including but not limited to switchers, audio boards, cameras, communication hardware/software, file based record and playback devices, as well as Tricaster hardware. This also includes the potential for learning new equipment and applications.
Research and manage all studio and remote equipment and applications as it relates to keep the A E Production Operations team ahead of the technical curve. Coordinate with engineering and vendors as needed.
Represent A E and liaise with production companies during evening and weekend productions to ensure consistent operations and communication
Qualification Requirements Must be able to work flexible hours, per production needs
7-10 years technical supervision and management experience with a concentration on live studio environments
Expert working knowledge of modern studio and remote audio, video, capture, and playback equipment, as well as Tricaster solutions.
Working knowledge of all file-based studio and post production solutions.
Ability to partner with various production clients to establish requirements and guide solutions
Proven management and organizational skills and an appreciation for workflows and process
Personable yet professional demeanor, especially under pressure
7-10 years of technical and operational experience in remote and studio production. Experience in operating modern studio equipment is mandatory. Additionally, experience with live events is a plus.
Must work well under pressure with ability to lead and maximize a team. Must be personable and client service oriented.
Educational Requirements BA or BS in Communications or equivalent vocational education
