THE ROLE: Manager, Development - A&E
A+E Networks has a Manager opportunity in New York office supporting the A&E unscripted development and production departments. This role has a focus in researching and generating internal series and specials concepts, shepherding them through the development process, and supporting the production team through execution when needed.
MORE ABOUT WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Manager, Development - A&E
• Research and identify internal concepts that align with A&E's programming strategy
• Identify and track potential talent for both series and specials. Conduct Skypes on promising talent
• Research trends and track emerging formats across the competitive landscape
• Conduct scouting trips to promising locations and/or meet with promising talent
• Support other executives in the department with ideation, research, and casting support
• Work cross-functionally with departments including Business & Legal Affairs, Publicity, Marketing, Social, etc. to see projects through to completion
• Assist when needed in the management of pre-production stages, such as budgets and production schedules
• Arrange pitch meetings, and maintain status reports and submission logs
• Help manage a network development slate that includes a wide range of topics and formats for both series and specials
• Build and cultivate relationships with the creative community and maintain high degree of knowledge of current events and trends
• Participate in creative meetings, giving feedback on development materials of the entire team
• Identify new resources for idea generation, and sourcing for potential talent
• Prepare clear and concise reports, manuals, etc. for management when needed.

YOUR STORY:
• BA/BS Degree
• 2+ years experience in entertainment
• Proven track record of generating series and specials concepts for cable and/or streaming outlets
• Previous employment at a production company preferable
• Ability to shoot and edit development reels a strong plus
• Casting experience preferable
• Strong time management and multi-tasking skills needed and must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Detailed-oriented and extremely organized
• Must have the ability to work independently, efficiently and be able to meet deadlines under strict time constraints
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Maintain awareness of competitive set
• Must be able to uphold confidentiality
