Division Story Production Operations and Engineering consists of a wide range of media centric roles. We are responsible for managing the entire life cycle of A E's programming. This is where we produce, transform, broadcast and distribute content as well as run the tech infrastructure for the Media Supply chain. Job Description THE ROLE: Junior Editor Our Junior Editors provide editorial support for longform formatting workflows. Responsibilities include but are not limited to basic formatting in support of global and nonlinear distribution, graphics refreshes, fixes, versioning, and execution of post technical operations such as asset delivery and project archiving. This role requires an expert understanding of the processes, technology, and general best practices of long-form post-production. MORE ABOUT WHAT YOU'LL DO: Format global and nonlinear masters Create string-outs from scripts/story outlines Create and replace show graphics such as title cards, lower thirds, credits and quizzes from existing AfterEffects templates Execute basic S&P fixes (audio bleeps/drops, simple blurs) Follow departmental guidelines to maintain consistent project, including timeline layouts Provide workflow and formatting guidance to new Editors and Assistant Editors Troubleshoot technical difficulties with Editors and coordinating fixes with technical support personnel WHAT YOU'LL LEARN: On our team, you'll have the opportunity to innovate and learn. You'll have exposure to all the inner workings of what it takes to get our content through our media supply chain and out in front of the eyes of the world. And, you'll collaborate with operational teams throughout our technical facilities as well as departments and stakeholders from across the company. YOUR STORY: Fluent in Adobe Premiere Pro, Media Encoder and AfterEffects Familiar with Avid Media Composer and Avid EOD; knowledge of Interplay is a plus Desire to proactively gain technical and institutional knowledge Juggle simultaneous priorities and communication streams via a variety of platforms (email, Microsoft Teams, etc.) while maintaining a professional demeanor, especially during periods of high-volume or time-sensitive work Possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Able to work independently and efficiently, and knowing when to ask for help MORE ABOUT YOU: 2 years' experience working in a post-production facility or similar production experience. Broadcast television network experience is preferred Comprehensive knowledge of post production workflows and processes for long form, episodic factual, and reality content is preferred Experience supporting editors and creative production teams Familiarity with aspects of the media supply chain such as asset trafficking, transcoding, and peripheral applications. Knowledge of the below systems preferred Asset trafficking: Aspera, Signiant, SHIFT, Frame.io, LucidLink, and FTP Transcoding: Media Encoder and Telestream Vantage Peripheral applications: Airtable, Office 365, MS Teams, Google G-Suite, etc. Strong computer skills with experience in Windows and MacOS systems Compensation Hourly Pay Range: $26.55 - $40.87 Annual Incentive Target: 5% The annual/hourly pay range displayed serves as a good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum base pay range for this role. Compensation for the role will be based on a number of different factors such as a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, location, and experience.
